About Us

The Steam Town Shanty Crew, based in Eastleigh, are a vibrant, mixed-voice, a cappella sea shanty group celebrating traditional maritime songs with fresh harmonies, community spirit, and welcoming inclusivity.

Formed in early 2023 the Crew rehearses every Monday night at their home port—Steam Town Brew Co—where the weekly shanty session welcomes singers of all abilities to join in.

”South Western Railway was absolutely delighted by the performance from the Steam Town Shanty Crew – they brilliantly adapted several songs to fit our railway theme , and were well received by our visitors to the Railway 200 Exhibition Train ‘ Inspiration’ at Southampton Central"

“A sold out event. We have had some good nights at Fryern and tonight was right up there! Reaĺly liked Sloop John B and having the female voices as part of the sound was really interesting. You all seemed to be having a great time, and that fed back to the audience. Well done and thanks again. Sure we will see you again.”
